A 1688 listing that says 19.9 yuan is not a Nigeria price. It is one line on a China wholesale page. People screenshot that line, multiply by a parallel-market rate they saw on Twitter, and call the result “my cost.” Then freight, FX, last mile, and a MOQ surprise show up, and the Instagram caption still says “China price.” This article is the landed cost version for ShopFluxx shoppers and small resellers, using the real 2 to 4 week freight class, not a generic importer spreadsheet with empty tabs.

Hubs: Shop from 1688 and Delivery. How to read the listing before you convert anything: How to Read a 1688 Price.

Yuan price is one line

1688 header prices are often a range. The cheap end is a child SKU, a high MOQ, or a color nobody wants. Your row in the table is the goods line. Write that number down as “China goods, this variant, this quantity.” Do not write it as “what I will pay ShopFluxx.”

Worked example, invented on purpose so nobody treats it as a live quote. A PU tote: 45 yuan each at quantity 2, on a listing whose header flashed 19.9. Two pieces: 90 yuan goods. That is line 1. It is not naira. It is not freight. It is not Paystack.

Catalog prices on Shop already accepted that the goods line is not the whole story. That is why a catalog tote can look “expensive” next to a 1688 screenshot and still be honest. Compare a naira quote to a naira cart, not to yuan.

China local delivery

1688 shipping is China domestic until someone like ShopFluxx receives the goods. Below MOQ, sellers add a domestic freight line that can dwarf a cheap SKU. “Free shipping” on 1688 often means free to a China address in a promotion, or free above a yuan threshold you did not meet.

In the tote example, say domestic is 12 yuan because two pieces did not hit the seller’s free threshold. Goods plus China local: 102 yuan. Still not Nigeria. Still not your Instagram cost.

If you send ShopFluxx a link without the shipping table, we have to discover this line while quoting. That is why the send-link SOP asks for the price table screenshot: How to Send a 1688 Link.

International freight

This is the line people skip because it is not on the 1688 page. ShopFluxx moves goods China to Nigeria on a 2 to 4 week class, then Lagos hub, then last mile. Fashion and small parcels usually ride that class. A light puffer can cost more to fly than a dense bag because volume is a thing. Volumetric weight gets its own post later.

We will not publish a fake per-kg menu here that will be wrong next month. What you need: the naira quote you receive is supposed to include this international leg for the path we sell. If you are running your own freight as a mini importer, you will see this line as a separate invoice from a forwarder. Mini importation vs store: Mini Importation vs Ordering Through ShopFluxx.

Week-by-week wait: 2 to 4 Week Freight. Air vs sea for shoppers: Air Freight vs Sea Freight.

In the tote example, pretend international plus handling on our path is the chunk that turns 102 yuan of China-side cost into a naira number you actually pay. The conversion is not “102 times Twitter FX.” It is ShopFluxx’s quote, which also pays for the work of buying, catching substitutions, and the hub. If that quote is 48,000 naira for two totes, your unit landed before last-mile oddities is 24,000 naira each, not 45 times 200.

Those naira figures are illustrative. FX moves. Quotes expire. Do not screenshot this paragraph as a coupon.

FX buffer in naira

Yuan to naira is not a school exam with one right answer. Official rates, card rates, and the rate a business actually pays to settle RMB are different. A locked naira price on ShopFluxx is you buying out of that mess for this order, on this day. If you sit on a quote for a week, we may have to refresh it. Dollar stickers in chats are how people get surprised. That surprise is Naira Price vs Dollar Price Plus FX Surprise.

Paystack then collects the naira. It does not magically freeze the CBN. It creates a receipt for the store total. Paystack Checkout for China Imports and pay in naira.

Resellers: if you price your IG sale off yuan, a naira swing during the 2 to 4 week wait eats the margin you thought you had. Either pad, or sell on a naira landed number you already paid. Profit after freight gets a worksheet in January. For now, know the risk.

Last mile and what you still cannot know in advance

Nationwide delivery from the Lagos hub is part of the ShopFluxx path. Remote addresses, failed deliveries, and “estate will not accept” are how last mile adds time and, sometimes, a second attempt. We do not invent a Chinese warehouse in Lagos to skip this. Lagos to Abuja.

What no honest quote can swear on a fashion 1688 link:

  • Nigeria Customs Service treatment of every possible goods type. No duty-free slogan. Later customs posts cite NCS. This is not legal advice.
  • Seller stock 10 days from now.
  • Exact gram weight before packing, if the listing lied about packing.
  • Your customer on IG returning a size. That is your policy, not China’s.

A second worked sketch, still not a live quote: a gym set listed at 39 yuan. Header looks like 19.9. Your size is 39. China local is 8 yuan. Two sets for a test: 86 yuan China-side. After ShopFluxx freight and handling, the naira quote might land near a catalog gym set on Gym Wear. If it does, buy the catalog and stop fighting MOQ. If the link is a fabric you cannot get on Shop, pay the quote with your eyes open. That is landed cost as a decision tool, not as a flex.

Landed cost is a floor with a buffer, not a prophecy. ShopFluxx helps people in Nigeria import from China. The yuan badge is advertising. The naira quote is the number that belongs in your wallet math. If the quote feels high, ask which line moved. If it feels low, ask what was left out. Do not fill the gap with hope.

FAQ

Can you give me a yuan to naira rate to use at home?

No single public rate matches how a store settles RMB. Use the naira quote. Home conversions are for curiosity.

Why is catalog sometimes cheaper than my 1688 math?

We may have better buy prices, or your listing has nasty domestic freight, or you forgot international. Math that skips lines always “wins.”

Does landed cost include my own photoshoot and ads?

No. Those are your selling costs. Landed here means goods plus the import path you paid ShopFluxx.

What if the quote changes after packing?

If actual chargeable weight blows up, support will say so. Volumetric surprises are more common on puffy fashion. Ask before you need a wedding date.

Is a cheap 1688 seller always a better landed cost?

No. Cheap goods plus bad packing plus returns plus replica risk is expensive. We may refuse the link.

Should I wait for FX to “come down” before I pay?

You can wait. Quotes expire and stock vanishes. Waiting is a market bet, not a ShopFluxx feature.
