The scam is rarely a Hollywood hacker. It is a WhatsApp chat that feels like every other import chat in Nigeria: a few factory photos, a naira price that is slightly too good, a bank account, and a promise of “2 weeks door.” Then the number vanishes, or the number stays and asks for a second fee, or the parcel is a different object than the photo. This page is a pattern library, then a contrast with store checkout. It is not a horror blog. Plenty of real agents exist. The fakes copy them.

Too-cheap freight and vanishing numbers

China to Nigeria on a shopper parcel is not a 3,000 naira miracle. When freight is priced like a Lagos dispatch bike, someone else is paying later: you, via a “customs surprise,” or you, via no goods. ShopFluxx publishes a 2 to 4 week window on Delivery because that is the class of service. A chat that promises Friday delivery from Guangzhou for fashion is selling a feeling.

Vanishing numbers: the agent uses a line that is not registered to a company you can find, then switches to a new line after payment “because WhatsApp banned the old one.” Real people lose numbers. Fakes lose numbers on a schedule, always after the transfer. If the only identity is a profile photo of a warehouse, you have a photo, not a merchant.

Ask for a website, a registered name, and a payment method that creates a receipt. If the answer is “we only do transfer, websites are for fraud,” that sentence is doing work for the thief. Stores can be fake too. Check the domain. A later post is how to verify shopfluxx.com. For now: HTTPS, About, matching WhatsApp, Paystack at checkout.

Milestone payment vs full upfront

Some honest trade uses deposits. Fake import chats love 100 percent upfront to a personal account for a first order with no paper. They also love a drip: pay goods, then pay freight, then pay “terminal,” then pay “NCS officer.” Each step has a screenshot of a fake levy.

A store checkout is one naira total you accepted, on rails that issue a reference. That is not a moral medal. It is a record. If ShopFluxx needs something extra later, it should appear as a store conversation tied to an order ID, not as a new personal NUBAN with a different name. Payments deep dive: Paystack Checkout for China Imports and Bank Transfer to Random Agents vs Store Checkout.

If someone insists you pay a Guangzhou worker in RMB from a Binance chat “because 1688 will not take naira,” that can be a real description of China rails and still be a theft. ShopFluxx exists so you do not have to become an FX desk. You pay naira here. We pay China-side. Pay in naira is the product explanation.

Names that do not match the account

You chat with “Blessing at Dragon Logistics.” You transfer to “Musa Ibrahim” or a POS name you have never seen. The story is always the same: brother’s account, company account in process, BVN issues. Sometimes that is a real small business being messy. On a first import, messiness is indistinguishable from fraud.

Match names. If they cannot, slow down. A limited company you can search is better than a nickname. A store legal name on a checkout page is better than a voice note. We are not your lawyer. We are telling you what our support team sees when people write in after the money has left.

Clone ShopFluxx: photos lifted from Shop, a WhatsApp bio that says ShopFluxx, a payment to a person. If checkout is not on shopfluxx.com, it is not this store. Tell us on Contact so we can warn others. Do not argue with the clone about spelling.

Clone DHL and NCS messages

Fake tracking is a cottage industry. You get an SMS or a WhatsApp PDF with a DHL-looking header and a link that is not the carrier. You get a message claiming to be Nigeria Customs Service asking you to pay a duty to a personal wallet to release a parcel that may not exist. NCS does not run customer support as a random WhatsApp with poor English and a countdown timer.

If you have a real ShopFluxx order, confirm fees inside our channels with the order ID. If you do not have an order, a “parcel in Lagos airport” text is bait. Official customs information lives on customs.gov.ng, not on a Bit.ly. We will cite NCS in later customs posts without pretending to be NCS. Reporting fraud: EFCC and your bank’s channels exist. We will not turn this article into a legal clinic.

Week 1 of a real import is often silent. Scammers fill silence with documents. Real freight literacy: 2 to 4 Week Freight: What Happens Each Week and the live delivery guide how long import orders take.

How a real store checkout differs

On ShopFluxx you can read How It Works before you pay. You can use Shop from 1688 without handing over a 1688 login. You pay in naira on a checkout that shows Paystack. You get an order ID. Support can talk about that ID. That does not make every SKU perfect. It makes the merchant findable.

A real checkout still will not:

  • Guarantee Nigeria Customs will never assess duty on every possible item.
  • Deliver a Guangzhou bag on Friday for a Tuesday order.
  • Source replica listings.
  • Operate a secret Chinese warehouse in Lagos that skips week 1 and week 2.

Those refusals are how you tell a store from a chat that will promise anything. Limits also live on What ShopFluxx Does Not Do later in the calendar.

If you already paid a fake agent, this post cannot reverse NIP. Call your bank quickly, keep the chat export, and stop sending “the last small fee.” Then, if you still need the goods, start a clean order on the store. Do not try to mix the fake tracking number into a ShopFluxx ticket. We cannot clear a parcel that was never in our freight.

ShopFluxx helps people in Nigeria import from China. WhatsApp is a phone app. It is not a merchant. Treat chats as chats. Treat checkout as checkout. That boring line prevents more losses than any scare statistic.

FAQ

Are all WhatsApp import agents fake?

No. Many are not. The patterns above are how fakes rhyme with real agents. Use records, name match, and freight that sounds like physics.

ShopFluxx messaged me from a new number asking for extra transfer.

Stop. Confirm on Contact and the numbers published on the site. Do not pay the new number first and ask later.

They have warehouse videos. Does that prove they are real?

Videos are copyable. A checkout, a domain, and a receipt are harder to fake at the same time. Still verify the domain.

I was asked to pay NCS on WhatsApp.

Treat it as suspect. Confirm with your actual importer using an order ID. Read NCS from official sites. Do not pay a personal wallet because a logo was attached.

Is Paystack proof the store is honest?

It is proof you paid a merchant on that rail, not a saint filter. Combine it with domain, About, and policies. It is still stronger than a unmatched NUBAN.

Should I share my 1688 login with an agent so they can buy faster?

No. ShopFluxx will not ask. A later post is only about that no. Send listing URLs, not passwords.
